Where is Sapa?

Sapa is a small mountainous town of Lao Cao province, which is located in the North-West of Vietnam. SAPA is well-known as a muse of nature, a place that you should not miss if you have a chance to travel to Vietnam. Around 350km from Hanoi-the capital city, you can reach Sapa in some different ways. 

(1)    Take a train from Hanoi station, heading to Lao Cai station. After arriving at Lao Cai station, take a taxi or a coach to Sapa town. 
(2)    Take a coach from Hanoi station, heading directly to Sapa. 
(3)    Rent a scooter and heading to Sapa by yourself

Best time to visit Sapa

As located in a mountainous area, Sapa has cool weather for the whole year, with the average temperature is 13 Celcius degree.
The Vietnamese tend to visit Sapa on the National holiday or weekend, to relax, enjoying the fresh air and immersed themselves in the beauty of nature. Moreover, as there are some minority ethnics people live surrounding the town, such as H’mong, the Red Dao, Tay, exploring Sapa also gives the tourist chance to experience those minority ethnics’ culture.

In general, people can visit Sapa for most time of the year, even it is spring or autumn. In spring, there are many peach, plum, apricot flowers blossoms in Sapa, make this place become gorgeous than ever.

In summer and autumn, people can enjoy the magnificent beauty of the rice terrace, whether in green or yellow color.

Where to stay in Sapa

The accommodation in Sapa is varied from luxury hotel to the budget hostel, from high-end resort to private homestay. Recently, tourists and the youth have a tendency to stay at some private homestays located in some surrounding ethnic villages, as those villages are a little bit separated from the center, people can relaxing and enjoying the most of nature. Some villages are walking able from the center of Sapa, while for other places, you need to take a taxi.
